Is there anybody out there selling a high end fax machine? I have a couple of medical companies that I sell & service who rely on a large amount of faxing. Of course having problems with older machines so have brought several versions of mult-function boxes and can not please these accounts. They are either too complicated or have too many features, ETC.... Anybody reselling JUST A FAX MAN????? Any input is greatly appreciated!

Ricoh has good ones and Muratec does

however the fact they cannot use MFP I doubt if you can find one with few buttons to make them happy

high end mean many features , many features mean many buttons

Muratec means sign up as dealer -no wholesale. Many of the MFS Muratec are Samsung
the fax only are Muratec made

Brother (Intellifax 2820) and Canon (Laxphone L-whatever) have some no-nonsense fax machines.

if you want a very reliable simple few buttons fax, look at the brother top of the line. intelifax 4750e. scans in 2 seconds, 50 sheet adf, 250 sheet cassette and can add a second 250 sheet tray for legal or more letter. i sell them regularly. they list at 499. find a discount for 25 off anything over 150.00 at staples (sorry to say that), and tell customer you add a service call or at least 60.00 to deliver and set up. staples ships for free. my vendors cant even compete with that. last month i got a mfc 8890 dw (that is network ready both hard wire and wireless) (the newest one) at office max on sale 399, staples said 499. so i charged the 499 and still the 60.00. no margin, but you keep a happy customer and sell them inks. these machines will last 100k before any big issues. if money is an issue, the intelifax 4100e is almost the same machine. looks the same, scans in 3 seconds and has a 30 sheet adf. cassettes the same. that one lists for 299.00. everyone i sell one to cant believe how nice it works. and do you know that brother drum units don't have drum blades anymore. kinda like the old xerox 660 and 740. hard to believe. no double image, or background. my we have come a long way, both on technology and no profits. it stinks. The good thing about that is they'll be calling you to come fix it in a couple days. Then you can make your money for the lost time.

Unfortunately you will probably NOT get a service call on the Brother fax anytime in the near future. Like it or not Brother has some of the most reliable fax machines available.

I should be able to get the toner & drum sales for it and save them a couple of bucks. It seems like with a lot of Brother Faxes by the time it breaks good its not worth the repair.... So back to the big box store.

yes, the brothers are reliable, but you will get occasional calls to clean or change adf rollers and pad after the one year warranty. and the toners. just tell them you match or beat the box stores. by a dollar. after the brothers have several years of hard use or 100k on them then big stuff starts to go. like scanner or fuser. then replace it. jim

Yeah. Its hard to argue with the Brother's marketing. They work and they're cheap and sometimes hard to fix. I just try to let customers know that I can get them generic toner and drums (from P&P and PR, both of which seem to work fine). The final service call is a board or fuser; i condemn the machine and get paid for the call. Not much else you can do. Most service calls are for early drum failure (OEM, not generic in my experience) and sometimes I get the service call and the replacement drum business!
