Message: How many miles do you guys drive on the average week? For me it seems to be 3,000 miles every 5 to 6 weeks, I know from changing the oil in my car. Wh ich comes out to be about 500 to 600 per week. Man that really gets me exhausted, it would be great to get off the road some day. Well I have to do what I have to do for my family.

Message: I drive my own car and average about 80 miles a day, but I will usually get a couple of days out of the month with over 200 miles in a day. Car allowance isn't much, 16.00 a day and .16 cents a mile. My enormous salary makes up the difference (yeah, right)!! ha ha

Message: For what its worth. I worked as a census enumerator for a bit this summer. The feds pay 50 cents a mile. I think that is what the IRS considers to be what is fair compensation for gas, oil, wear/tear, etc. No surprise that the industry pays less.

Message: Well, I have an "07 Buick Lucerne with 151K miles on it. Only thing replaced was a left front wheel bearing. ($260.00 installed). I have not done the 100K tune up yet. I use Mobile 1 15,000 mile oil and change it every 8K, costs $54.00...
Changed out trans fluid with brand new oil at 90K.
Change air filter every 30K. I average 25 MPG....
Never had to turn it in for a warranty call, ever.

Message: LOL! Woxner, I have two vans right now with over 250K on them, neither have ever had any major repairs at all.
My last Dodge truck I sold with nearly 300K on it, and never had a thing done to it. Granted I changed trans juice every 30-40K, but was not easy on it. I only drive American. I used to drive foreign and got tired of the pricey parts. I used to drive K-Cars all teh time cuz they were easy to work on and parts were dirt cheap.
