Message: I got out of the cash register business a couple years ago. I used to be a Sanyo, and Samsung dealer. The Sanyo's got so complicated to program, and Samsung only had one model that I sold, (5115 II), because it was so dependable. I'am thinking about getting back into that business, because of the lack of work. What are good reliable models, where parts, and technical support are available. Thanks in advance. Ken

Message: we dabble a bit in registers and we only sell the samsungs/sam4s. CRS has parts and support available. there thermal printer models seem to be holding up very well also.

Message: Thanks Ray, I've sold those Sams 4's for several years before I got out of it, and I thought the same thing, but like I said, Its been a couple years, and you know how things change. Thanks again Ken

Message: Ken, I would stick with any Samsung product. I have been in the biz for 27 years now and CRS seems to be on top of their game. Everyone else is over priced (hardware and parts) or not handy when there is a problem. You will also notice that Samsungs can NOT be purchased at any of the "discount" houses like Sharp,Casio,Sanyo and Royal. Samsung's touch units are the only reason I even exist in this crazy business. The simplicity of the product has to be the best feature. Good luck,Dave.

Message: I agree; the Samsung/Sam4s are durable, easy to service, and (from the dealer standpoint) simple to program (beat the heck out of TEC in that regard).
Simple enough for end-users to program.....but they rarely attempt it!
5115 II's are still current, and the Dealer line up are solid performers!
Easy Money!

Message: I've generally had good runs with Samsung, but watch
out for the touch (SPS2000). They have had some
serious problems with the power supplies (sometimes
to the point of overvoltage causing destruction of
main board). Apparently there is a new version with
a better PS so I'm checking it at the mo. They give
out free manuals and link software also, so they are
probably still the best. Sharp and Casio used to
have a better quality product, but they have slipped
down to Samsung quality anyway now

Message: Sam4s is a great product, but the new
SPS-500 and the SPS-2000 are dealer time intensive. Be aware customers will call a lot with questions. Also the firmware can be a bit
flaky with some features not always working the way they should. I would not avoid these models but cover yourself and charge enought upfront for these.

Message: That's true enough, but that's more of a function of the end-user rather than the unit!
Most people have tons of questions even on the ER-52xxM series.
And if they had an older ECR of a different brand, you have to break them of their "muscle-memories!"
"But that's not how we did it on the OLD machine!"
Sheesh!
