 Subject: E studio 600 skewing off the glass

Just got a e600 w/12k meter for the shop here and its making copies from the doc feeder just fine but when you copy off the glass it skewes the image about 1/4 inch and leaves a skewed black mark across the top of the page. ive aligned the scanner according to the S/M and the pully wires aren't bound or overlapping.
Any Ideas?
