OK I have been working this problem for over 2 months the original call was "prints but won't copy" the machine is throwing an error code for the scanner hone problem. I checked for free movement then changed the scan motor, didn't fix it so I changed the driver pcb, it had a cracked transister and had oviously been shorted out but the machine is still throwing the code and I don't know if I should go to the power supply or the logic board next. anyone had this problem before?

That model doesn't have the same problems with scanner shaft as the 551 does it? broken screw on the pulley at the shaft. Check white ref plate
