I am confused on this one. It will jam from tray one and tray two, not from the bypass tray. I have cleaned all the sensors, unplugged the sensors one at a time and it jams. The registration is working fine. The jam is two sheets at the registration and one in the fuser.

?????

Thanks

AKA NP2020

the suction belts may be slipping and or the suction belt shafts break and cause resistance

Thanks for the response.

No, I don't know... the box works fine from the bypass, so I would think the belts check out.

A good chance the paper feed solenoids are sticking. The sound deadening foam gets gooey, holds the plate a little and lets another sheet feed.
Remove the back cover. I think you can seethese without too much effort. If that's waht it is (happened a lot on lots of Canons) scrape off and clean off the goo with alcohol or something and maybe even coverwith clear tape.

Having both fail at the same time is no surprise. Also could have been the customer only used one because the other already failed. Bypass is a sidfferent system so that fits too.

You might confirm it by running single copy tests (almost always a good way to narrow down and troubleshoot jamming problems). If you do one and wind up with a second sheet out of the cassette, then this is almost definitely it.

Hi,

Thanks for the response. I will look around for that type of solenoid, but I think this unit uses the round magnetic ones.

Thanks again & have a nice holiday.

Yep, it was the pickup solenoids. You can't see them without taking out the LVPS. Thanks to all.
