Subject: Canon Laserclass 730i will not function as printer IP: Logged
Message: I have a Canon Laserclass 730i. The fax functions work fine, sends and receives/prints fine. I can also see the machine across my network, and I can connect to it remotely via IE8, and can even send faxes via email. I can not however use the machine as a printer.
I installed the current driver on both an XP machine and a WIN7 machine, and during both installations setup found the 730i on the network all by itself and completed the installation successfully. The test print fails, and it says it cant find printer on network. I tried to print from MS Word, IE8, and notepad itself. No go. Any ideas?

Message: When I install the printer it asks me to reboot when it
finishes. I reboot before printing any test page. I would
say it probably doesn't see it after it reboots, but the
weird thing is that if I try to reinstall the printer it will find
it again.

Message: I was able to fix it - i had to go into the security settings and give permission to the ip addresses where i was printing from in order to be able to print. once i set that permission I was good to go.
