Subject: Dell MFP 1815 noise/jams

I have been growling over a Dell MFP-1815D. The fuser drive coupling gear keeps jumping and causing fuser jams. Fist I checked and cleaned/lubed the coupling gear and when that didn't do it, I replaced the fuser. When that didn't work, I replaced the drive motor, but the thing STILL jumps and causes jamming.

Any ideas?

You did the motor did you do JUST the motor or whole drive assembly
this samsung family often need the gear on the motor drive assembly that drives right on the fuser need changed with the fuser

Think simple first Make sure it is not a locked up/popping toner,, The problem with the Del Version toners often used are Remans
in the Samsung I will not use Remans and had bad luck with them locking up

Also since those fusers have heat sleeves with no
bearing, always put a dab of fuser oil on each end
of the heat roller every time you visit the
machine. This will cause the fusers to rotate
better giving you more life per fuser and saving
those drive gears. Good luck -Cope
