Subject: HP LaserJet 9000 error 49.c02
IP: Logged

Message:
All the book says is 49.X critical firmware error.
Can anyone out there elaborate on this.
Haven't been there yet to run a event log. Just
talked to cust, they've already power cycled it.
49 error comes back.
TIA, Gordon

It could be a network card, or anything connected to the formatter, or even the formatter itself.

Have solved this error with firmware, loose dimms, and replacing MB on different machines

Before rebooting, go into the printer queue and cancel all pending jobs. Then reboot and see whether it was a print job that kept making the error come back before replacing parts

I've also seen this message pop up if the print job is too complex for the printer to handle.

Went out on this today. Error was gone when I got
there.(of course) Ran the event log. Saw only two
occurances of 49.c02 (c02? isn't that carbon di-
oxide?)......Sorry. Anyway, previous to that was
five in a row 57.03.00, which are fan errors.
Anyone have a thought about the 57's being related to the 49?
