Subject: clj2600 colors off

Color registration/calibration is constantly off. Tried all different toners, known good formatter & DC controller. Calibrated it 50 times, every config page is different. Printed Demo page great a couple of times but won't hold. Typically black and/or magenta is out of whack. I know its not worth repairing but hoping to get it going for in house use. Any other thoughts?

If you go down the list of ingredients that form the image, you did not mention the belt, the lasers and the fuser. From what you describe, I don't think the fuser is a likely suspect, but what about the laser(s)?

Clean the laser unit mirrors and do an NVRAM Init.
then a calibration and your problems should be
resolved. -Cope

I have previously posted on this

Try a factory reset first, this has worked for me on six different 2600's now

Jim & Kasca, unfreaking believable. WOW that took care of the problem. powered off/on several times with prints in between and its holding. Even tried it on a 2605 that I deemed dead that would only print engine test, no reports at all, and viola its working also. This site & you guys ROCK. Cope thanks for the input, but put this in your bag of tricks.

FYI: Yesterday I went on a service call for a 2600. Repetitive image defect; distance between defects indicated problem with fuser. No obvious damage or wear to the fuser that I could see. Did a NVRAM reset and voila: problem gone.
Had I followed the book, I would have replaced the fuser.
