Ok Guys thinking caps on please.

I have a 4000 in work shop.
1) Fault is 13.1 and 41.5 error code when printing from cassette 2 or 3.
the paper jams about 4" out of exit, and just at registration.!
the paper is coming out blank.??
however if you print from tray 1 (Bypass).
the machine is fine perfect prints and running.
I have tried jetdirect, I have cold reset and full reset.
the feed tyres are good the sttings are ok, the trays are fine.
Any help would be appreciated, as I am off to a wedding today and tomorrow I will have to face this Hungover.

Thanks
Jim

If the paper is coming out blank, check the toner cartridge, and the laser scanner shutter to make sure its opening. For the paper jam it could be a bunch of things. I would consider checking the paper feed roller solenoid from the trays. I have been running into a bunch of sticky solenoid pads latley of the 4000, That would only account for the second page being blank. Good luck

The solution to this is simple. Part # RG5-2651

It is the feed unit behind the tray 1 assembly. The clutch stays energized, so the paper in multiple prints does not stop where it is supposed to. It is right on the heels of the previous page, which is why you get the jam. The machine stops because it thinks the paper in the exit area is not moving because the reg and exit switches are actuated at the same time. And since the second page is way too early you have blank prints. Have seen this too many times to remember.

Yup DT is right. Very common as these machines age.
