Subject: Brother MFC9840 Black image repeats itself IP: Logged
Message: When a page is printing using black the image is repeated a couple of times on page (ghosting). The customer installed a new drum unit which has new drum for each color but problem still occurs. The customer then printed a form which was all black but added the letter "r" in red. The document printed out perfectly though only one letter was in color and everything else was in black. Also if you copy that document and press color button you will get a perfect copy with no ghosting.
I had posted this problem Friday but thought I may not have explained it properly so I am doing it again. Any help is appreciated. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

Message: worth trying the update. but i'm thinking, and correct me if i'm wrong, that when you print or copy in color, it uses all the color toners to create the black. that may be why you don't see ghosting/repeating in color mode. when you print/copy in mono mode, it uses only the black cartridge. if i'm correct in my thinking, it would lead me directly to the black toner cart.
