Subject: hp 4250 error 11.01 IP: Logged
Message: getting this error evey time the printer is started. panel says "bad locpd 4485 11.01 internal clock error". have never had this before. looking in the service manaul but could not find it. anyone had this before? thanks howard

Message: Yes, on one machine. Apparently [at least with mine] the unit once had a hard disk installed that was removed. The error only shows up when the machine is powered off and on. You can either enter date & time or just press the check button to finish booting. Solution is to replace the formatter but unless it is an issue to the customer it isn't worth the expense.

Message: PS - the battery is not holding a charge. You can try replacing the battery on the formatter if you want to take the risk, but it's best to just replace the formatter.

Message: is there an explosion risk to pretinning the disk type batteries ourselves? just wondering. i did a battery once but cant remember what type. no explosion but i still cringe thinking about it. jim

Message: Not sure, I get the type with leads already soldered on from factory. You could save yourself the effort and get a mounting clip for a buck from electronics shop or radio shack.

Message: ive soldered a lot of ni-cad, lithiums and never had any booms yet. but i cant guarantee that it can not happen. just wear goggles.
