Subject: HP LJ 4100 energy save will not adjust IP: Logged
Message: A customer of mine has a LJ 4100 that will not allow user to set the energy save feature. It is stuck on "1 minute" and even though you can scroll up through different durations, it will not allow you to actually set them. I have already performed the cold reset in service mode. Bad formatter?

Message: why not do a factory default reset first. make sure to remove the nicard.

Message: Since the HPs have instant on fuser heat, there is no real reason for change setting
the speed of the older processor may seem slow but it is the age and computer interface not fuser energy save.
if it does have nic card Carlos has good solution as well use the web interface page to make the change

Message: Well, I swapped machines around their office to alleviate the problem.
The first thing I did was complete the factory reset and that didn't fix the problem. I haven't tried it through the web interface, but I suspect that this will not work either. I have had more than one of these things getting quirky over time.
