Subject: scm wordsmith IP: Logged
Message: I havn't much experience on typewriters but it seems I'm all that's left....the type wheel no longer spins.....blew it out and reseated connections ...found a small 1/4 inch piece of plastic....any fix for with this model?

Message: I have repaired the Wordsmith. My advice is to advise your customer to get a better machine. If Nakajima still makes a portable, you could order one from Carolina Wholesale.

Message: your right.....I've sold a few of them or a rebuilt wheelwriter.....this is throw away but the cust is cheap and if I can fix it easy enough its better than nothing.......I'm going to pull the keyboard apart....it starts to work correctly when I mess w the code button/setting....

Message: old guy is right I worked on one of these I think it was the printwheel latch? any way tried to order part haha only way to get parts is under warranty. if you spend more than 30 min on it you are loosing money.unless you are cheep or work for free..

Message: yep, cheap and seem to work for free....just something to do when I was bored.....not bored any more ...ended up in ICU for 3 wks in june......just catching up now.....cut the cord on the typewrier and added it to the copper box last month....about all it was worth.....Joe
