Subject: IBM WW3 series II IP: Logged
Message: customer brought this in and said when she powers off, the tabs reset back to default tabs. when i power off, the tabs seem to reset to every 5 characters on a 10 pitch scale. there is no battery back up that i can see. is this a normal function? does customer have to clear preset tabs and set their own, and leave power on to avoid this happening? any info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
ray

Message: I would think if they are cleared you would have no tabs at all (carrier goes to far right using tab)
No battery holder to the right right of center in front of keyboard ??

Message: no, there is no battery holder. and i can clear the "preset" tabs, set a couple of my own and they will hold until i turn power off. when i turn back on and hit tab key, it tabs every 5 characters. i don't have manual on this, so i am not sure if this is normal or not. any help or info would be great.

Last sentence on the Tabs page:
"Note:Leave your typewriter turned on to save your tab settings."
The reset default of tab every 5 spaces makes since now.
