Add a little vanilla extract to your cleaning solution (409,etc) Cleans just the same but customers love the cookie smell.

CIRCUIT BOARD REPAIR
If you repair copier or fax boards yourself make sure you check the glue that mounts the components to the board. If the glue touches the terminals it will corrode and eat through the wires, also before the glue gets hard it can be conductive just like a capacitor and cause a temporary or high humidity short in the circuitry.

CASH REGISTERS AND CALCULATORS
If a calculator or cash register printer keeps running continuously then replace the   A1284(A1283 will also work as well) transistors and the DCT (DC-DC converter).

PRINTERS
CARRIAGE JAMS

If the printer prints for a while then the carriage makes a high pitch whining noise then slams to the right or left, clean the Print shaft with lacquer thinner. Make sure to get under the bar as well. Move the carriage several times then clean again to remove all the buildup. Lubricate appropriately.

POOR PRINTER QUALITY
If the Printer is printing poorly and the ribbon has been changed, then check the card-holder (Transparent Plastic that is in front of the platen behind the carriage). Adjust it or form the holding brackets to move it closer to the paper. It really improves the print quality. This is most common on machines that are printing multiage forms.

RISOGRAPH 6300
If you get a t-1 code replace the main board fuse with one with a higher resistance, the one that came from the factory tends to blow after a jam.

I can't say I agree with the idea of substituting a main motor fuse of any value higher than the 8 amps originally found in the machine. If the drum is hanging up long enough to blow the fuse, there's usually a good reason. Sometimes the master clamp will not open fully and the clamp plate will try to climb into the disposal box. Make sure the clamp plate is straight and lube the rear pivot with a light machine oil.

RISOGRAPHIC RC SERIES IMAGE QUALITY
"Compressed " image- Check the set screw in the gear that drives the master loading rollers. It will probably be loose. An easy way to check this is to open the master loading compartment and rapidly move the master loading roller back and forth. If you feel any give the set screw is loose.
