The display on this fax will register hardware error when the optics get dirty. Remember: Hardware error displayed on the LCT readout is nothing but dirty optics. Take apart and clean will solve the problem.

2500L and NEWER - ERRATIC OPERATION
On Ricoh model 2500L and newer, erratic operation,close cover display and fuser unit codes can be caused by faulty door switches. If the main cover is closed slowly, you can generally hear the switch arcing if it is going bad.

2400L/2700L/3700L/3800L/4800L - Double Feeding of Pages
If your Ricoh fax machine is double feeding pages when receiving, this is usually caused by a broken or loose end fence, green-colored, located in the rear of the internal cassette tray. Replacing this end fence (Ricoh Part Number H5163414) and adding the metal support bracket to the back of it will take care of it.

2500/2600/3000/3100/3200/3500
Uneven placement of toner or chatter noise when receiving. Toner cartridge
guides on machine broken on one side. Can be replaced by ordering retrofit
from Ricoh.
